 Indie-pop artist, producer, composer, and songwriter Lana Winterhalt continues to break the molds of a typical DIY artist. Following her down-tempo, instrumental release, Still, Winterhalt delivers a high-energy, 3-track EP of unabashed summer-trash-pop bangers. Summer Magic is exactly what the doctor ordered after a year and a half of pandemic lockdowns, bringing listeners back to the care-free summer days of cruising around the city with the windows down, feeling the sparks in the beginnings of summer romance, and being whoever you want to be..."at least for the summer".

Lana Winterhalt isn't afraid to take risks and make music that continues to bend and blend genres. As a producer, Winterhalt is obsessive about the creative process and willing to explore areas of her artistry that have not yet been tapped into. "I love pop music, I really do. While I typically like to explore alt and indie-pop genres, I'm also just in love with those good beats that make you feel good. That's all I wanted to do on this EP, just make some music that people can dance to and pretend the world is normal for a second" says Winterhalt.

This EP is not free of irony, however, with Winterhalt pushing back against these clichés with accompanying photography and videos that are completely dichotomous to a summer of sun; a black turtleneck, black jeans, and black boots cover Winterhalt from head to toe as she floats in a pool with no one but a swan floatie to accompany her. She doesn't take herself too seriously, and that's what makes this EP special. There is something freeing about being able to enjoy trashy summer pop bangers while simultaneously realizing there isn't a lot of earth-shattering artistic depth here. But after two deeply emotional EP's made in lockdowns from the COVID-19 pandemic, Winterhalt just wanted to make something light and fun for once.

The EP arrives June 21 (the first official week of Summer 2021) to all streaming platforms, Bandcamp, and for purchase on physical CD. The first single, "Summer Magic" comes out June 4, followed by "Cruising' Round With You" on June 18.
